Job Details
Energy Research Institute @ NTU invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with a dynamic team to involve in design, modelling & simulation and prototyping of GaN based high power converters
- Provide innovative solutions for high power converter design including circuit topology, driver circuit, EMI/EMC filter and PCB schematic & layout design etc
- Develop real-time controller for GaN based power converters including embedded controller and high level functional controller
- Actively support the system integration and testing required for the GaN converter prototypes
- Organize the project data, draft periodical reports, present project status, conduct market scans/interviews and develop proposals for future work
Job Requirements:
- PhD degree in electrical engineering
- Research experience in power electronics or related fields
- Minimum 3 years of post-doc experience in GaN converter development
- Strong foundation with power electronic design, analysis, modelling & simulation
- Proficiency in power electronic design tools such as ALTIUM, PLECS and PSCAD
- Proficiency in real-time control design tools including Matlab/Simulink and DSP/FPGA
- Strong hardware integration capability to develop and test GaN based high power converter prototypes including electrical design, thermal design and system packaging
- Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), coordination, and negotiation skills
- Able to manage multiple stakeholders (external and internal) and work under tight timelines
- Excellent teamwork awareness

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility:
• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university.
Terms and Conditions:

• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
