At TU Dresden, the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Department of Hydro Sciences invites applications for an

Open Topic Chair of (W2) in Hydro Sciences

to be filled at the earliest possible date.

We are looking for a candidate with a scientifically proven track record to cover a self-defined, innovative field of Hydro Sciences in research and teaching.

Essential performance criterion is a teaching and research concept of high quality that should be based on and complement the existing structures of the faculty and the department. The denomination of the chair will be adapted according to the profile of the successful candidate. Your teaching tasks focus on courses in the university’s bachelor, master and PhD programmes of the Department of Hydro Sciences and include courses in English.

We wish for an outstanding international researcher who will complement and strengthen existing research priorities in the field of hydro sciences. We pay special attention to your capability for interdisciplinary co-operation within the emerging field Water Research according to TU Dresden’s Excellence Strategy, with the Center for Advanced Water Research (CAWR) and with regard to the connectivity with joint research projects. A convincing teaching and research concept is an essential part of your application. We also ask you to document your record of publications, your experience in acquiring third-party funding and in research transfer as well as your capability to engage in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary collaboration. Your focus may be either on basic or applied research, in both cases we ask you to adequately prove your ability to acquire DGF funding or similar. We presume an excellent aptitude for scientific work as well as outstanding didactic skills.

Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG).
