The Violence & Society Centre is a new interdisciplinary research centre at City, University of London. It aims to develop knowledge to assist the reduction of violence. It has multiple sources of external research income, both national and international, from research councils and governmental bodies, including UKRI, MRC, ESRC, the European Commission and the Humboldt Foundation. It works with multiple stakeholders including the Third Sector; governmental bodies; and European and UN agencies. City is investing in the Centre with new staff and new offices. As a novel interdisciplinary venture which is quickly expanding, new procedures are needed to develop both internal facing engagement with the rest of City and external engagement with users and funders of research.

The new role of Centre Manager is responsible for the successful operational delivery of the Violence & Society Centre and reports to the Centre Director. The successful candidate will establish new administrative and communication systems and project manage multiple streams of work. This is an exciting opportunity to assume a high-profile role in the establishment of innovative coordination procedures which maximise the uptake of high-quality research within City and beyond Higher Education. The work will also involve developing new models of inter-departmental working and streamlined university administrative functions.
The appointed candidate will have a proven track record managing complex programmes supported by experience of working within a large research organisation.
This post is available part-time or fulltime. This has been identified as a full-time position however a job-share or similar part-time working arrangement would be considered, subject to the arrangement meeting business needs.
