The Brodin lab is a multidisciplinary laboratory investigating human immune system variation using systems-level analyses tools. Half of the group focuses on data generation using diverse methods such as VirScan, mass cytometry, sc-mRNA-sequencing, ATAC-seq and high-dimensional functional analyses, while the other half of the group is concerned with developing and applying computational data analysis tools.

Your mission
The current postdoc project will be focused on the application of VirScan, a phage-display method for global serological profiling, as well as a systems serology approach to functional testing of antibodies from human patients and in particular the investigation of vaccine response in human newborns in relation to the developmental state of the infant immune system (Olin et al, Cell 2018 & Pou et al, Nature Medicine, 2019).

Your profile
The successful candidate should have a PhD in molecular biology or related subjects. He/She must thrive in interdisciplinary environments, be able and comfortable to work independently, being results oriented and able to meet deadlines. The candidate must have excellent communication skills in English. Experience of using multiple NGS applications is important and strong molecular biology expertise critical for this position. Experience in working with phage-display methods is valuable but not essential. Experience with serological studies, ELISA, fluorescent bead-based serological profiling is a valuable merit.

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
