RESEARCH FUNDING LEAD

Edinburgh Campus

£36,413 - £40,129 per annum

SRUC is unique in Scotland and one of the largest organisations of its kind in Europe. Our ambitious and exciting vision is to work at local, national and international levels, leading innovation and sustainable development in agriculture and rural sectors.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Funding Lead to join the Research Operations and Strategy team based at Edinburgh Campus. The post holder will make a substantial contribution to the ongoing development and growth of SRUCs research and commercial activity and performance, particularly research grant and contract income through providing a high level of pro-active support for academic and commercial colleagues with the development of successful funding proposals.

This will include developing and delivering processes (e.g. training, grant tool-kits) to grow the quality and ambition of funding applications, providing hands-on support to strategic projects and embedding good practice in research grant and bid development throughout the organisation, including training.

You will work with the research performance analyst to proactively develop new research opportunities for SRUC, horizon-scan, gather intelligence and develop relationships to help inform our key target areas for research funding going forward. You will provide support colleagues leading on complex and larger bids in the development of the proposal from inception to contract award including supporting the drafting of aspects of the funding application.

This role is a full time, permanent appointment.

Further details on the responsibilities and requirements for this role can be found in the Job Particulars document which you must read and is downloadable when you click the APPLY button.
