Postdoc in combinatorics

Job description
Successful candidates will conduct research in geometric, algebraic and enumerative combinatorics and/or discrete and convex geometry together with Katharina Jochemko and/or Liam Solus and other members of the mathematics department at KTH.  There are two positions: one with Katharina Jochemko as mentor and the other with Liam Solus.  Separate applications are not needed to be considered for both positions.

There are two positions and both are time-limited, full-time, one year positions (with the possibility of extension) starting August 2021 or at an agreed upon date (either earlier or later).  The positions are financed through the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet), and will each include a teaching load of 20% (approximately one masters level course every year).

Qualifications
Requirements

A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline (Whit some exceptions for special reasons such as periods of sick or parental leave, kindly indicate if such reason exists in your resume).

The applicant must have a strong background in any of the following areas: algebraic and enumerative combinatorics, or discrete and convex geometry. The candidate should be a highly motivated researcher who can work as well alone as with other researchers
Preferred qualifications

A strong emphasis will be placed on scientific skills, pedagogical skills, the ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other researchers, and awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality.

About the employment
The positions are each one year with the possibility of extension. 

A position as a postdoctoral fellow is a time-limited qualified appointment focusing mainly on research, intended as a first career step after a dissertation.
