Rehabilitation Research Institute of Singapore invites applications for the position of Project Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in a small team as a Robotics Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer to develop and implement a ROS 2 C++ intelligent human-robot interface toolbox to advance assistive robotics research
  • Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to deployment
  • System integration, testing, validation and hardware in the loop testing with hardware and software systems for ROS 2 robotics systems
  • Software quality assurance
  • Review system design and firmware/software for reliable system implementation
  • Documentation

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in embedded system engineering – working with embedded boards and using standard embedded development tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG, etc
  • Experience in C, C++, Python, Git, real-time operating systems
  • Knowledge on industrial programming standards and frameworks for testing and validation of embedded systems is advantageous
  • Knowledge on development of ROS drivers and software development in Linux is advantageous
  • Driven, passionate, self-starter, team player, innovative and quality focused
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Open to learning new development methods

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
