from across the globe. Fellowships will be awarded for a duration of up to two years (preferably starting in the fall of 2021).

The Foundations of Value and Values

This programme aims to explore the idea of value-driven transformations towards more sustainable futures. Before looking at the necessary conditions for changes to be sustainable, we need to look at the following questions: How do new values emerge? Where does value come from in current society?  What are features of our economic and political systems that allow people to develop and articulate their values and to strive for a life in line with them? THE NEW INSTITUTE invites projects looking at values as taking a central role in shaping behaviour and driving social change. We invite applications by researchers, artists and journalists, who work on topics related to the four sets of guiding questions as outlined in the information for applicants (
