The Department of Dermatology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Instructor positions in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of Dermatology with a strong track record in research demonstrated by publications and prior grant funding.

Responsibilities may include conducting clinical, health services, and/or epidemiological research focused on dermatology in the lab of an established investigator. Minor responsibilities include establishing a clinic as well as teaching dermatology residents and rotating on the inpatient consult service about 2-4 weeks per year.

Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Board Certified/Eligible in Dermatology The successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop expertise in clinical epidemiology with interest in research and teaching. An individual who has received / or is applying for an NIH K Award or other Career Development Awards from foundations, e.g. Dermatology Foundation, has development of research credentials, including scholarship necessary to transition to a career as an independent clinical scientist is preferred.
