Cranfield School of Management (SOM) is looking to recruit two new permanent full time faculty members to join our Strategy Group. We are looking for dedicated strategic management scholars who are committed to rigorous and relevant research and who will make a positive and significant contribution to the intellectual life of the Group.

Reporting to the Head of the Strategy Group, you will be responsible for conducting and publishing independent and joint research in Strategic Management or closely related fields and supporting the Group and the School in various education and administrative roles as appropriate to the level of your appointment.

All candidates must hold a PhD or DBA in Strategic Management or a related discipline. At the Senior Lecturer/Reader level, the candidates must have a track record of publishing their research in top management journals. At the Lecturer level, PhD degrees in foundational disciplines of management (e.g., economics, sociology, or ecology) will be considered if supported by evidence of interest in, and commitment to, strategic management research and practice.

The Strategy Group is an established centre for thought leadership in Strategic Management with a long history of advancing scholarly debates and management practice worldwide. The Group’s current research agenda adopts a process-based and complexity-informed perspective on strategic change. Therefore, candidates whose research interests lie in this space will be particularly suitable.

Cranfield School of Management has long been recognised as one of the most established and prestigious business schools in the UK. With over 50 years of experience in advancing thought leadership in management, SOM consistently finds itself at the top of international business schools ranking tables and belongs to the elite group of 100 business schools globally that are triple accredited by EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB. SOM is particularly well-known for its excellence in leadership development, its deep-rooted relationships with private, public and not-for-profit organizations, and its focus on transforming learning and research into improved management practice. The School has a very strong doctoral research programme which includes PhD and DBA candidates.

We are looking for enthusiastic and informed individuals with the ability to work in a team to develop world class thought leadership and learning experiences.

At Cranfield we value Diversity and Inclusion, and aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together harmoniously with dignity and respect and realise their full potential. To further demonstrate our commitment to progressing gender diversity in STEM, we are members of WES & Working Families, and sponsors of International Women in Engineering Day.

Our equal opportunities and diversity monitoring has shown that women and minority ethnic groups are currently underrepresented within the university and so we actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from these groups.

We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking, and commit to exploring the possibilities for each role. Find out more here.
