The Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) is highly ranked in the world for its groundbreaking research in communication and information studies. The School's programmes are designed to equip students with the necessary skills and expertise to tackle challenges in a complex and rapidly changing socio-technological environment.

Job Descriptions: 

  • Prepare literature review and searches to outline research related to social media/ new media
  • Participate in research conceptualization and design
  • Harvest data from social media sites
  • Leverage text analytics to provide insight into topics and sentiment of data from social media/new media
  • Visualize social network data
  • Apply statistical techniques to understand online behaviors of users and their interactions with social media/new media
  • Evaluate current augmented/virtual reality solutions to deliver quality users’ experience
  • Prepare reports and documentations for the research program
  • Contribute to research publications and presentations
  • Assist in duties related to project management, documentation, and outreach of research results
  • Assist in developing new project proposals related to social media/new media

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Basic understanding of research and analytical skills
  • Attention to details and procedures
  • Effective communication and report writing skills
  • Ability to quickly master new technologies
  • Ability to do data extraction

About Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF)

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
