The Birmingham City Business School is home to 150 academic staff, supported by an administrative team, and a highly diverse student community of 4,500 students studying on campus, with many more studying with overseas partners. We have a long tradition of providing practice oriented higher education with a particularly strong focus on supporting regional SMEs and enhancing the economic and social wellbeing of our city and region.  Our staff and students are the real key to our success, and we are committed to delivering excellent teaching and learning for our students, which is research informed.

We are seeking a Director to lead this exciting school, which symbolises our driving ambition to support the city and the region as the university For Birmingham. Candidates will bring a track record as a leader in a relevant academic discipline and combine this with a desire to continue our external engagement and focus on our core business of delivering a great student experience and enhancing employability.   As we continue to deliver improvements in key performance areas the Director will build upon our enhancements towards the TEF, REF and our recently started accreditation journey to the benefit of our students’ learning. Importantly, the successful candidate will have an inclusive management style, accompanied by strong communication skills and the ability to engage with, and inspire, the staff, students and wider community.

This role is an excellent opportunity for an academic leader with a passion and a clear vision for creating a distinctive offer in a buoyant and ambitious school.
