Description
The University of Chicago Law School invites applications for part-time lecturer positions for the 2020-21 academic year. We seek excellent teachers and experienced practitioners to teach in a variety of law, law-practice, and law-related areas that enrich the Law School's already robust curriculum. (Candidates are invited to consult the Law School's current curricular offerings at: http://www.law.uchicago.edu/prospective/curriculum.) Candidates must have at least a tentative idea for a course or seminar to be offered, as well as expertise and experience directly relevant to the course or seminar being proposed.
Qualified candidates must have a graduate level degree; J.D. or appropriate terminal degree preferred. Candidates must have relevant or law-related experience; prior experience teaching law students is strongly preferred. Among other considerations, we value candidates with diverse backgrounds and perspectives who will enrich and improve the student experience and the Law School's intellectual culture.
We will review applications on an on-going basis throughout the year, but will stop accepting applications for the 2020-21 academic year on April 30, 2021. Each candidate must submit a curriculum vitae or resume and a course proposal. In addition, we would prefer to receive teaching evaluations if available from any prior teaching experience. Other material relevant to your candidacy may be included. Interested parties must submit materials online at this website.
