Senior Research Assistant 
Faculty of Arts, Design and Social Sciences   

School of Design in the Faculty of Arts, Design and Social Sciences (ADSS) promotes multidisciplinary research among design, technology and social innovation. It leads the Newton Prize Project"Sustainable urban and rural integration with AI and Big-Data technology "funded by Dept. of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. 

This is a collaborative project from an international research consortium, led by PI-Prof Shengfeng Qinat Northumbria University in collaboration with researchers in the University of Southampton UK, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Tsinghua University of China. 

The role of the research fellow includes (1) to design and develop a Crowdsourcing platform for service design-supporting industry and innovation for sustainable development as a digital service design platform, (2) help the PI on project management such as event preparation and organisation, and (3) research dissemination.

The successful candidates are expected to have a PhD in design or computing (or nearly completed a PhD).

Your research experience in crowdsourcing-based product and service design is essential for this project development. Your programming skill in cloud-based digital service platform development is a key skill for the project. 

Your multi-language skills in both English and Chinese is preferred for the UK-China Newton Prize Project.
