As Senior Linux Engineer, you will play a proactive part in driving forward development and implementation of policy and process standards, service offerings and strategic projects impacting across the University. You will play a key role in developing and standardising the delivery model, ways of working and standards across our Linux estate using your substantial expertise in this field. You will take a leading role in the development of solutions for complex issues and problems.

You will utilise Redhat, Satellite, and configuration management skills gained from substantial experience in Linux administration roles to design, develop and maintain a Linux provisioning service that aligns to industry best practice, IT standards and regulatory compliance. As a senior member of the team you will be responsible for supporting, training, coaching and mentoring colleagues; you will be comfortable with ensuring alignment to the best approach to a problem and presenting this back to peers and stakeholders; building and owning the standards for the team. You will balance the requirements of projects and academic colleagues for specialist systems with the need to provide effective, efficient and secure IT.
