Job Details

One postdoctoral position (Research Fellow) is available in Dr Shashi Bhushan’s group at the School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore.

The project aims to study the structure and function of mycobacterial membrane proteins with cryo-EM and single particle analysis. Our laboratory has access to the state-of-the-art cryo-electron microscopes (Fei 120 kV, Fei 200 Arctica and Fei 300 kV Titan Krios) with direct electron detectors (Falcon 3 and K2) for high-resolution structure determination. We are looking for highly motivated candidates who are willing to work on challenging projects to unravel molecular mechanisms of mycobacterial membrane proteins.

Job Requirements

  • PhD in Structural Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics or related disciplines
  • Practical experience as evident by the publication in structural biology/X-ray crystallography/cryo-EM are essential for this position

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
