Please note the closing date for applications is 11 September 2020 at 12pm midnight (BST) Applications are invited for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate (PDRA) in Plant molecular Biology with a particular emphasis on Protein Modification systems. The research project aims to understand how protein modifications can be exploited to boost resistance against multiple environmental stresses including disease resistance in crops. The PDRA must be experienced in plant biochemistry, in particular in proteomic methods for peptide and protein analysis including detection of protein post-translational modifications.
The successful applicant will be expected to use state of the art proteomics to identify regulator proteins that mediate disease resistance mechanisms in potato crops. The PDRA will validate these targets as controllers of resistance mechanisms in potato and Arabidopsis.
