Position Summary:

The Research Associate will support grant funded research conducted by the Bowel Health Service within Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer, with their tasks related to a recently funded NHMRC project grant as well as providing project management and lead logistic planning for a range of bowel cancer prevention research projects. Responsibilities will include assisting with the day-to-day activities required for bowel cancer prevention studies, reviewing and summarising pathology findings and undertaking data auditing and analysis. The incumbent will prepare publications and presentations on the research, provide progress reports to key stakeholders, and assist in the preparation of competitive applications of external research funding.

The Research Associate will work under the under the broad direction of the Associate Professor of the Bowel Health Service, and in collaboration with medical, nursing and allied health staff, clinical investigators and company representatives to ensure clinical trials and other research projects are analysed and communicated appropriately. The Research Associate will receive broad direction from the Associate Professor, but will mainly work independently and will determine their own priorities. This position will include supervising some clerical staff.

A valid National Police Certificate which is satisfactory to the University will be required before the successful applicant can commence in this position.
