1. CONDITIONS FOR THE POSITION:

Required education (level and area):

• doctorate (PhD-previous or PhD-third Bologna cycle) in the field of biology
• valid habilitation title: Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Full Professor for the field of Didactics of biology education
• the candidate meets the condition if he has a valid UL title or valid title of the guest teacher at UL. If, at the time of application, the candidate does not have an election to the above mentioned titles, but he meets the qualitative and quantitative conditions for election to these titles, he can apply for the job vacancy, in which case, together with the application, he/she shall also provide evidence of compliance with the above criteria, accompanied by a statement, in the event of a decision by the selection committee, the application shall also be considered as an application for election to the title or for the recognition of the equivalence of the title
• active knowledge of English and knowledge of the Slovenian language at B2 level according to the European Reference Framework for Languages (CEFR). If the selected candidate fails to meet this condition at the time of the job placement, he must complete it within three years from the date of employment

Functional knowledge and other requirements:

• rhetorical abilities, sense of innovation, ability to organize either their own work or work of their colleagues, PC skills, knowledge of foreign language, at least five years of work experience in the field of teaching, experience in managing international research
• experience in organizing and running teams or expert groups and organizations
• experience in organizing and conducting professional education and training
• references in the field of biology and science education 

2. JOB DESCRIPTION:

• designing and training curricula, and adapting university and higher professional education programs to requirements
• organization (or co-organizing the activities related to the implementation of the teaching programme according to the syllabus, with application of research findings; coordinating work and supervising other staff engaged in the teaching programme (assistants, technical and other assistants)
• giving lectures to students, conducting seminars and other pedagogical activities
• managing, evaluating and correcting examination papers and testsdirecting students directing research work and study activities
• providing mentorship to students in preparing their diplomas, master and doctoral theses and similar
• the scientific-research, study and development of concepts, theories and methods
• participation in other activities related to pedagogical or scientific research work in the field of expertise (for example nostrification, expertise)
• perform other tasks by order of the Dean, Vice Deans respectively, or Head of the Department, which in substance fall within the broad area of expertise workplace

3. JOB STARTING DATE:
part – time (50 % i.e. 20 hours per week) employment for an indefinite period, presumably from October, 1st 2020
