Description

The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Chicago invites applications for a Research Associate in Renaissance Italian Literature and Visual Culture to begin on September 1, 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The department seeks a scholar in Italian literature and art history of the Renaissance who will further their own research in collaboration with faculty in the department and elsewhere in the Division of Humanities. The selected candidate will 1) conduct research in a stated field of concentration under the mentorship of a faculty member, 2) participate in regular colloquia and workshops in the department, and 3) be in residence at the University of Chicago during the three quarters of the academic year. The initial appointment will be for a term of three years, with reappointment possible upon successful review.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold a PhD in a field related to the posting and demonstrate an active research profile in Italian Renaissance studies.
