We are looking for a senior researcher within the area of cybersecurity that will create, conduct, and participate in research projects in close collaboration with other researchers at the computer security incident response team CSIRT-MU (TwitterLinkedin). Our current projects span network measurement and traffic analysis, network security, and testbeds for security. We study ways to improve the technologies and skills of security teams. We build systems and prototypes, and much of the research is grounded in operational deployment. This position is financed by the H2020 research project SAPPAN.

The candidate is expected to:

  • participate in research focused on network traffic analysis, cyber-attack detection, anomaly detection, and incident response and recovery
  • analyze data, develop methods and bring them into different application areas of cybersecurity
  • advocate research findings to diverse audiences through the best suitable communication means inspirational talks, demos, videos, presentations, and articles.
  • be involved in the planning and proposal of projects

You should have:

  • Master or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science
  • broad understanding of current cybersecurity landscape  
  • experience with cybersecurity-related research  
  • experience with advanced data analytics (e.g., data classification, big data processing, clustering, predictive modeling) and related toolset - promising publication track
  • expert knowledge of a scripting language (e.g., Python)
  • Perfect English (at least C1 level) 
  • you should be able to: plan your work, work in a team, present results in writing and oral presentations

Plus is:
