We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates to join us on a project in the field of single-molecule electronics as a Research Associate, ideally starting on 1st November, 2020.

The project is entitled ‘Single-Molecule Electrochemistry in the Time Domain’ and is funded by the Leverhulme Trust for a period of up to 30 months.  It is a joint project with the Department of Chemistry, University of Liverpool and will involve close collaboration with researchers there.

We are developing new experimental methods based on molecular junctions to probe fundamental aspects of charge transfer through molecules.  The relevance of this work extends well beyond electrochemistry to a wide variety of applications including molecular electronics, photovoltaics and spintronics, as well as electron transfer in molecular biology.

The successful candidate will be a highly-motivated individual interested in both fundamental science and device fabrication.  Clean room experience and/or previous experience of molecular electronics research are essential.
