Job Description

• This position will manage multiple inpatient/L&D projects for the MFMU Network site at Penn under the supervision of the Nurse Coordinator. The individual will provide oversight of clinical trials and clinical research personnel. This will require training of clinical staff, regulatory documentation, monitoring of patients in studies, interaction with the PIs, as well as the management of multiple studies simultaneously. The MFMU Network research team at Penn has expanded over the past year from three to five staff members (the Nurse Coordinator, two research nurses, and two coordinators), and as clinical research activities re-open following the COVID-19 pandemic, the network site will expand from five to seven active studies, including six clinical trials. One of the new clinical trials (PACT) funded by the NIH’s HEAL initiative, is focused on individualized counseling by research nurses for opioid management following cesarean delivery. This study has an aggressive timeline and will require approximately 75% effort by the two research nurses and approximately 50 percent effort by the Nurse Coordinator. The Project Manager will replace one research coordinator, supervise a research coordinator, and supervise the activities of the two research nurses outside the PACT trial.
