The Research Fellow in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering will work on a project to conduct the research on development of energy harvesting systems used semiconductor junctions. Electron transport in the junctions and influences of surface states on electron transport will be the research focus. Optimization of the energy harvesting systems will be carried out to achieve the maximum power conversion efficacy.

Job Description

  • Development of a physical modelling for electron transport in semiconductor junctions which are intimately contacted
  • Study of the influences of the surface states on electron transport
  • Development of high efficiency electric generators based on semiconductor junctions

Job Requirements

  • PhD in Physics or Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related field
  • 1-year research experience in related area
  • Expertise in electronic materials and band structure calculations
  • Knowledge in electronic device design and fabrication
  • Proficiency in basics of programming languages
  • Proficiency in English
  • Publication track record is an advantage

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
