ACADEMIC SKILLS Adviser REQ001012

31.5 hours per week (0.9FTE)

Grade 5 : £30,046 to £35,855 per annum pro rata

Reporting to the Academic Skills Team Leader within Student Services, you will provide professional support and advice on a range of academic skills and learning technologies to develop students’ academic resilience and personal confidence, fostering independent self-regulated learning. You will design and lead individual and group sessions with students, and liaise with academic colleagues to plan and deliver appropriate support within the curriculum.  

You will contribute to the development of student focussed e-learning tools and maintain a knowledge of current pedagogy to provide relevant guidance to students of all disciplines and levels.  

You will work in partnership with students and staff to develop resources and proactively promote the service, designing and delivering a range of activities tailored to students’ academic development requirements.  

Educated to degree level, you will have significant experience of working in an advisory capacity, supporting learners in Higher/Further Education; designing and delivering workshops and have knowledge of the use of assistive technology to promote inclusive learning strategies.  

Self-motivated, you will have high level planning skills to organise and prioritise your workload to meet deadlines.
