Applications are invited for two posts of Senior Lecturer (Teaching Focused) in Marketing, in the Marketing Department.
Candidates are invited to contribute to the teaching of the growing student population in the Marketing Department, at Royal Holloway, University of London. This position will entail teaching across broad range of curriculum spread across our Bachelor in Science in Management with marketing specialisms, as well as a portfolio of specialist postgraduate programmes including the MSc International Management (Marketing), MA Marketing, MA Consumption, Culture, & Marketing and the MSc Digital Marketing.
The marketing department has over twenty faculty and includes teaching focussed and non-teaching focussed members, several of whom are internationally recognised as subject leaders.
It is desirable, but not essential, for candidates to hold a PhD in a relevant subjects but other qualifications shall be considered, as will other relevant backgrounds in the field of marketing. The successful applicant will be expected to provide academic leadership in teaching and will support the management and strategic planning processes of the department and the College. We are particularly keen to recruit people with passionate ideas and projects that will address marketing pedagogy at an international level and who want to dedicate their career to enhancing the subject’s pedagogy. We also desire candidates who take intellectually rigorous, theoretically and methodologically informed, approaches to boosting student employability and engaging with the marketing and consumer research profession.
Post holders will teach and supervise students, taking full responsibility for the design, management and delivery of their teaching. They will be expected to demonstrate up-to-date scholarship in line with the research-informed context teaching, relevant academic literature in their field, and pedagogic research. They may publish work on pedagogy, and/or contribute to national and international policy. Additionally, applicants with expertise in some of the following areas are especially desirable: consumer research, critical theory, applying qualitative methods in pedagogy, digital marketing, and quantitative methods but we remain open-minded to inter-disciplinary scholars who have ideas about addressing marketing pedagogy at an international level.
