The Jindal School of Psychology & Counseling (JSPC), the tenth school of JGU, will start its first academic session in August 2021 and is committed to promote excellence in teaching, research and capacity building in the study of psychology in all its forms and manifestations.

O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) invites applications for a senior leadership role as “DEAN” of Jindal School of Psychology & Counseling (JSPC).

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Dean is expected to provide a vision for the development of the new school by providing leadership and contribute to the institution building and some of the responsibilities will be as follows:

  • To oversee and monitor the planning, development and implementation of the course curriculum of courses/programmes for the new school with reference to external benchmarks.
  • To ensure academic excellence in the university by tying up with institutions of repute, faculty exchange programmes, accreditation with international bodies, academia industry interface etc.
  • To work actively with Admissions & Outreach team towards enhancing the image and reputation of the University with the objective of attracting bright and diligent students from India and abroad.
  • To work closely with the Office of the International Affairs and Global Initiatives in order to establish international collaborations with the global universities, institutions of repute in Psychology and Counseling.
  • To conceptualize, plan, design and develop a Journal for the Jindal School of Psychology and Counseling.
  • To help and the assist the Management in meeting the regulatory requirements for obtaining approval from statutory bodies.
  • To lead the efforts for recruitment of outstanding faculty from around the world.
  • To help in identifying and securing externally funded research grants, projects, training programmes from different agencies, both within and outside India.
  • To work actively with the office of career services for securing internships and placements for the students of the school.

Qualification & Experience:

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Psychology from an internationally reputed university, track record of research and publications, and held a leadership position for not less than ten years.
