Job Purpose

We are eager to strengthen our current pool of freelance markers for our ICAEW courses. We are seeking to recruit UK based markers who are willing to mark throughout the year with competitive marking rates on offer. Due to recent changes within the qualification, exams are Computer Based Assessments and therefore marking will be in electronic format.

Key Responsibilities: Markers are required at Professional and Advanced Levels and would be marking the following papers within a particular stream:

• AUDIT – “Audit & Assurance”
• FINANCIAL REPORTING – “Financial Accounting & Reporting”, “Corporate Reporting”
• BUSINESS WORDS – “Financial Management”
• BUSINESS NUMBERS – “Business Strategy”, “Strategic Business Management”, “Advanced Case Study”
• TAX – “Tax Compliance”, “Business Planning & Taxation”

Please indicate your preference, based on your previous experience, as to which of these areas you would like to be considered for and refer to the examining body website for syllabus information on each paper. Due to certain crossovers, you may be allowed to mark across multiple streams. We are also looking to increase our pool of ICAS markers, so please mention at time of application if you would be happy to also mark ICAS.

Candidate criteria

• Ideally a professionally qualified accountant although applicants with significant practical experience may also be considered
• Previous marking experience is desirable but not essential. Full training and support will be provided
• Outstanding written communication skills – to provide clear, constructive feedback to our students
• Planning and organisation - to achieve quality output in a timely fashion, meeting/exceeding deadlines
• Digitally literate
• An adaptable approach according to business needs
