The College

The College of Technological Innovation (CTI) seeks to produce graduates recognized by business, government, and educational institutions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Gulf Region, and the rest of the world. It also seeks to develop a strong applied research capacity in emerging technologies directed towards meeting the ICT needs of the UAE and Gulf region. The CTI academic programs are practical, competency-based, and designed to prepare students for successful careers as Information Technology professionals.

At the undergraduate level, CTI offers two Bachelor degrees: Information Systems and Technology Management (Department of Information Systems and Technology Management) and Information Technology (Department of Computing and Applied Technology). The College’s Bachelor degrees are accredited by the ABET Computing Accreditation Commission. Currently, CTI has 52 full-time faculty and 1850 students (male and female) seeking majors in the College on its Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses

The Opportunity

The Information Systems and Technology Management (ISTM) department seeks qualified candidates to fill in multiple full-time, multi-year faculty positions beginning Fall 2020 or Spring 2021. This position is full-time for the rank of Associate Professor or Professor in the following areas: Digital Transformation, Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Applied Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Data Science, Business Intelligence and other related fields.

The Requirements

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree from an internationally accredited university in Information Technology, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a closely–related discipline with a specialization in one of the above-mentioned areas. Successful candidates should hold the academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor (or equivalent) as a result of their promotion post-PhD with at least 6 years of teaching experience at an accredited institution of higher education, and demonstrate a strong record of continuing distinction in research, scholarship or creative endeavors in the field commensurate with their academic rank. The scholarship record should clearly provide evidence of national and/or international distinction and reputation; demonstrated excellent graduate and undergraduate teaching ability and shown continuing active engagement with students in and outside of the classroom; demonstrated graduate research thesis/dissertation supervision experience; continuing evidence of relevant and effective professional service; and demonstrated ability for continuing achievement in all areas. Successful candidates are also expected to actively engage in various college and university committees and participate in community service. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also required. Preference will be given to applicants with international experience in a multi-cultural environment.
