A Research Fellow position is currently available in the School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences, NTU.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct high quality research in areas related to quantum information and its applications to complexity science
  • Publish papers in areas related to quantum information and its applications to complexity science in world-class journals
  • Aid in supervision of FYP and PhD students on topics of quantum information and its applications to complexity science

Job Requirements

  • PhD in theoretical quantum information or related field
  • Excellent English verbal/written communication skills
  • Record of high impact publications related to quantum information science
  • Ability to communicate technique ideas to interdisciplinary scientific audiences
  • Previous experience in the proposal of new quantum algorithms/protocols, quantum resource theories (e.g. coherence) and quantum machine learning
  • Experience in adapting theoretical concepts to testable experimental proposals
  • Collaborative ties with leading experimental groups in quantum technologies
  • Research experience or general knowledge of complexity theory
  • Prior experience in co-supervising research students

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
