Description
During the autumn, winter, and spring quarters of the 2020-2021 academic year, the Humanities Collegiate Division may have part-time teaching opportunities in the Creative Writing program in the genres of poetry, nonfiction, or fiction.
Minimum qualifications are a bachelor’s degree or equivalent (MFA or PhD in Creative Writing preferred), a minimum of two years of experience teaching creative writing at the university or post-secondary level, and a record of publication in print and/or online publications. We seek experienced and diverse applicants whose intellectual and creative interests are proven by a comprehensive teaching and publishing profile.
Responsibilities will include preparing and teaching craft seminars or workshop-style classes, holding regularly scheduled office hours, and the preparation and grading of assignments inclusive of providing written feedback on student work.
Depending on the curricular needs of the department, the successful candidate may teach between one and four courses per academic year. In 2020-2021, the per-course salary is $7,000. This position is not benefits eligible.
