We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic senior lecturer/lecturer to join our social work team based in the Department of Social Work, Education and Community Wellbeing in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. You will be responsible for developing and delivering high quality, research-rich social work teaching across undergraduate, post graduate and post qualifying programmes. You will demonstrate subject expertise with specialist knowledge gained through experience and you will have excellent knowledge of the complexities of decision-making in social work practice and the changing context of practice and service delivery. You will contribute to all aspects of professional studies relating to the academic and practice development of social work students.

Working in the Department you will be a member of a vibrant academic community that is multidisciplinary with social justice at the heart of what we do. Social work at Northumbria is committed to making a difference to the health and wellbeing of communities and individuals and you will be expected to contribute to high quality research and enterprise and engagement.

You must have a professional qualification in social work and be registered, or be eligible for registration with SWE, and you should also have (or be prepared to obtain in the first 2 years of employment) membership of the HEA. You will be qualified to Doctoral level or near to completion of academic study.
