Job description

The School of Arts, English and Languages (AEL) seeks to recruit a Lecturer (Education) in Arts Management & Cultural Policy. The successful candidate will deliver a range of modules both undergraduate and postgraduate in areas of cultural policy, arts management and cultural policy research and practice. They will offer dedicated expertise in these areas and have in particular knowledge of national and global cultural policy.

This is a fixed term contract available for a period of two years.

Within the school, our world leading experts provide research-led and industry-engaged teaching programmes to ensure graduates are prepared for the demands of a rapidly evolving workplace. Within Arts Management & Cultural Policy, we are at the forefront of developing student skills in leadership and management of arts and cultural programmes and practices, and embed critical examination of the policy and industry contexts surrounding them. We connect directly with a range of theatre companies, festivals, venues, local and central government bodies and arts development agencies to ensure that students are working with professionals and policy makers. Our cutting-edge facilities include the Brian Friel Theatre, the Film Studio; Queen's Film Theatre, a television and radio broadcast studio; The Film Studio, recording studios, concert venues including the world-leading Sonic Lab and stereo and surround sound production studios.

The successful candidate must have:

• Primary degree in a related discipline plus: either have or be about to obtain a PhD in a related discipline or five years' relevant professional experience.
• A publication record (or be about to publish) in peer reviewed journals / conference papers.
• Scholarship interests that are sustainable and which complement or enhance research activities of School.
• A minimum of 3 years scholarship / research experience in a relevant field.
