Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in Education (CPD)

Applications are invited for an experienced or aspiring academics to join the education team at Northumbria University. Working within the Department of Social Work, Education and Community Wellbeing, you will work across a number of programmes, but you will be expected to significantly contribute to the PG Certificate in Academic Practice(PGCAP), also delivered as an Academic Professional Apprenticeship. You will contribute to all aspects of the academic development of students, as well as liaising with academic colleagues across the university undertaking continuing profesional development. There will also be a requirement to contribute to our suite of Masters programmes 

You must be able to demonstrate knowledge of policies, provision and effective practice relating to leading on the PG Certificate in Academic Practice, as well as have experience of supporting the teaching and learning of students on other post graduate Education programmes. 

You will be doctorally qualified or near completion of your doctoral studies, in an area related to education. You must have subject expertise in teaching and learning with specialist knowledge gained through research activity and teaching experience within the higher education sector. You will be a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). Proven ability to deliver high quality research led teaching within an appropriate field and a strong research profile (or clear potential to develop one) are essential for this role.

You will work flexibly as part of a team, to contribute to teaching, research, enterprise and engagement. Your role may involve Programme Leadership within the department, and teaching in the area of Education, and you may be required to undertake teaching and leadership roles across the department.
