The Law School at the University of Huddersfield is seeking to appoint one or more Lecturer/Senior Lecturer(s) in Law.  With a distinguished history of teaching law and excellent professional links at a regional and national level, we have reached a pivotal point and are expanding our team and investing in the future.

Sitting within Huddersfield Business School, the Law School has recently moved into a new building with its own dedicated Moot Court, is submitting to the Research Excellence Framework and sits within a University as one of only two in Yorkshire to achieve a gold award in the Teaching Excellence Framework.

You will join a growing, vibrant and friendly team dedicated to providing an excellent student experience.  Our values include the ability to work closely with colleagues in a mutually supportive environment and having a professional work ethic. We encourage the delivery of creative and engaging teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and the ability to contribute to a growing research culture designed to encourage high quality publications and impact.

You should hold a PhD in Law or equivalent area; be able to provide evidence of excellent teaching; and demonstrate strong research potential for achieving quality publications and establishing an international reputation.  A teaching qualification is an asset as is Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or the capacity to achieve this within the first year of employment.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates who are able to offer teaching in the core courses of Criminal Law, Public Law and Tort Law and this forms the basis of the current round of recruitment.  An additional ability to offer elective teaching in Terrorism, ADR or Data Law would be welcomed.

Informal enquiries can be made to: Professor Kasim N Sheikh k.n.sheikh@hud.ac.uk
