The Department/ College 

The Department of Life & Environmental Sciences, which is part of the College of Natural and Public Health, is an interdisciplinary department that currently offers undergraduate programs in Life & Environmental Science, Psychology and Human Services, and Public Health and Nutrition, as well as Health Care Administration (Executive Masters). 

The College of Natural and Public Health (CNHS), which also houses the Department of Life & Environmental Sciences, is firmly grounded in the UAE’s determination to build a sustainable future while preserving the integrity of its traditions.  The College offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in key areas that promote the study of issues related to environmental, social, cultural and economic sustainability.  The majors in the College take a broad, multidisciplinary approach to identifying and addressing the complex, intertwined areas of modern society and its sustainable relationship to the 

natural environment.  CNHS students are uniquely equipped, through research and internship experience, to understand and to work at the intersections of the traditional disciplines of the cultural, social, humanitarian, political, scientific and technological fields. 

The Opportunity 

The Department of LES invites applications for a position in Environmental Sciences (Remote sensing).  Successful candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to the goal of developing environmental scientists and managers for the U.A.E. and to display leadership in curriculum development and research.  Faculty is sought who can offer high-quality teaching and research in areas related to Environmental Sciences, and related courses, and help develop innovative interdisciplinary courses and programs. 

The Requirements 

Candidates should have a PhD at the time of appointment in Environmental Sciences (Remote sensing) from a recognized university, and the capacity to teach and research in an interdisciplinary environment. Evidence of teaching excellence and experience is important along with a student-centered and innovative approach to teaching. Preference will be given to those able to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in Environmental Sciences in Abu Dhabi campus, as well as help develop programs. Also candidate expected to start in the next academic semester start in August 2020.
