About us

The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) provides a comprehensive service supporting the health, wellbeing and development of young Western Australians. Their vision is healthy kids, healthy communities. In striving for this vision, they endeavour to ensure that children and young people get the best start in life through health promotion, early identification, intervention, and child-centred, family-focused care.  To facilitate this, they employ more than 4,000 people, and consist of Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH); Community Health and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

Curtin University and CAHS have forged a strategic alliance to drive the research program in community child health in Western Australia, through the appointment of the Community Child Health Chair. Based in Perth, this prestigious position offers a unique opportunity to combine a professorship at Curtin University together with a Clinical Consultant level research Chair within CAHS, and includes support from Telethon Kids Institute.

Your new role

As a nationally and internationally recognised research leader in developmental paediatrics and child public health, you will provide strong academic leadership within the CAHS Community Health Service, leading the research agenda. Attracting and leading an exceptional team of high-quality investigators dedicated to making research discoveries, you will make a major impact in the field.

Working with the Community Health leadership team, you will shape strategic thinking, and translate new research discoveries into clinical practice.  Communicating your findings through high impact publications in academic journals, you will nurture and expand collaborative relationships with research groups, institutes and other collaborators, enhancing international recognition of your research.

This rare opportunity will allow you provide innovative, research-led teaching, supervision and mentoring to undergraduate and post graduate students, helping to develop their knowledge and practical real-world skills to make tomorrow better.
