The Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) contains the anonymised, longitudinal medical records of patients registered with contributing primary care practices across the UK. The CPRD database covers approximately 20% of the UK population, including practices in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales and is a dynamic database whereby data is collected from practices on a regular basis. The University of Bristol has an institution-wide licence agreement with CPRD, whereby researchers can request CPRD data for research analysis purposes.

We are looking for a talented, passionate, dedicated database programmer with sound statistical skills and understanding of relational databases and data management, preferably in clinical research. You will have an outstanding level of accuracy and attention to detail and will understand data security and data confidentiality.

The role would suit applicants with experience in medical statistics, computing science and/or applied health research. A background in quantitative methods applied to health services research will be an advantage. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
