From their 85,000 sq ft facility, ACS Clothing Ltd provides retailers with an ethical, responsible and environmentally friendly clothing rental service using state-of-the-art automated garment handling technology. The role

You will assess and develop technology designed to provide a more effective and efficient automation sterilisation process. To will be achieved by evaluating the current ozone process used and generating new and more effective sanitisation & automation based on both chemical photochemistry understanding and practical experimentation. 

Responsibilities:

i)    Increase operational efficiency by developing an improved, scalable and environmentally friendly means of continuous garment sanitisation using ozone or related technology
ii)    Provide downstream opportunities for diversification, joint venturing and/or sub-licensing of the developed technology

What we are looking for

  • Minimum MSc Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience e.g. analytical chemical research, significant research and development in science (photochemistry, physics and chemistry ideally) and mechatronics (instrumentation, controls and automation ideally)
  • Proven proficiency in at least one high level PLC programming language
  • Strong experimental background and excellent technical writing, preparation and reporting
  • Knowledge in:
  1. photochemistry and free radical chemistry of ozone
  2. control systems design
  3. conveyor systems
  4. industrial network
  5. Maple and Matlab/Scilab
  6. multi-input/output controls with recipes based approaches 
  7. PLCs
  8. sanitisation/sterilisation or decontamination
