Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in Low Carbon Mobility

Description

We seek an individual who will build an innovative research program in the design and management of emerging mobility solutions towards achieving sustainability and efficiency. Expertise is specifically sought in the following areas: intelligent transportation systems that leverage artificial intelligence; advanced vehicular, sensing and communications technologies; low carbon internal combustion engines, fuel cells, and hybrid systems. The faculty member will teach graduate courses as part of Mechanical Engineering curricula, recruit and supervise graduate students and post docs, to be affiliated with the Clean Combustion Research Center, and engage in service activities for the university and the profession.

The science produced in PSE focuses on understanding, modeling, and manipulating matters at all scales (nano, meso, and macroscopic levels), in all forms (bulk, thin films, divided colloids, fluid flows, earth as system, etc.) and in interaction with external stimuli (light, heat, fluids, stresses, etc.). The knowledge produced serves to help design and engineer novel materials, technologies, and systems.

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering currently has 13 full-time faculty members, over 53 postdocs and research scientists and more than 90 graduate students. The Mechanical Engineering Program (http://me.kaust.edu.sa) focuses on the following areas: combustion and energy, fluid mechanics, materials and solid mechanics, and dynamics and control. The Clean Combustion Research Center (CCRC) carries out cutting-edge research on all aspects of combustion from flame study to modeling.

Priorities will be given to outstanding candidates at all ranks (Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor).
