Job description

 The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is seeking to appoint a highly ambitious Project Manager to support the roll out and delivery of a new ERDF Business Growth project `Lancashire Health MATTERS`. The successful candidate will work closely with our delivery partner, the NHS Innovation Agency to create wealth through testing and validation of new health and medical products and services. Experience of working with SME’s, managing a team and managing multiple projects is therefore essential.

The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the Real-World Validation evaluation and validation studies on health and med-tech innovations developed by Lancashire SMEs are carried out, ensuring contractual targets are met and to manage the development of each project offer to meet the needs of SME companies.

Principal activities include:

  • To lead the Real-World Validation programme for SMEs through liaison with the NHS Innovation Agency
  • To manage the referral of SMEs to a range of professional development services both internally and externally that are pertinent to the needs of SMEs
  • To manage staff that are engaged in the design and implementation of Real-World Validation (RWV) studies to ensure the SME benefits from the activities undertaken.
  • To ensure adherence to processes in place to effectively manage the University’s relationship with partners and all SMEs, identifying opportunities for further collaboration.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, have excellent communication skills and the ability to identify and communicate effectively with SME’s as well as being able to work with academics and health service staff.
