About the position

This senior, Associate Professor position will play a key role in ongoing development, research and teaching within the Occupational Therapy team. The Master of Occupational Therapy has full accreditation with the Occupational Therapy Council of Australia and WFOT.

The position offers opportunities for those interested in an innovative approach to Occupational Therapy education with a focus on research, small-group based teaching and collaborative partnerships. The role will incorporate significant contributions to leadership within the Occupational Therapy team and associated academic management duties.

Based on the Gold Coast, the position will play a pivotal role in maintaining strong connections with the surrounding health services including Gold Coast University Hospital, Robina Hospital and various private and non-government service providers.

The position will contribute more broadly to the Faculty and University by providing leadership in research and scholarship, teaching, academic administration and community engagement, particularly in the professional field of occupational therapy.

About the person:

The successful applicant will have a PhD and be recognised for professional and/or academic occupational therapy practice, with well-developed leadership, management and team building skills and a performance record commensurate with level of appointment.

Candidates will be expected to have a track record in occupational therapy professional practice, research and scholarship and teaching and learning practice. Registration as an Occupational Therapist (or eligibility) in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is a requirement of this role.

The salary range for the position is $145,988 to $159,778 plus 9.5% superannuation and will be commensurate with skills and experience. Salary packaging options are available for eligible employees.
