Postdoctoral Research Associate in Psychological Medicine
This is a new role, working on the ESRC funded SEP-MD (Social and Economic Predictors of severe Mental Disorders) study, which will establish one of the first data linkages in the UK bringing together mental health records with ONS census data. This will enable us to assess the social and economic determinants of mortality, in-patient psychiatric admissions/episodes of detention and long-term worklessness in people with severe mental illnesses, with a major focus on ethnicity and migration. The role would suit a candidate with a strong background in quantitative data analysis skills who is confident with large-scale data sets and with an interest in social epidemiology, social psychiatry or equivalent. We will consider good candidates close to submitting their PhD. A significant part of the role will be leading/coordinating impact and engagement activities and working closely with non-academic partners. The postholder will be encouraged and supported to apply for further funding related to this/other projects.
This post will be offered as a fixed-term contract for 12 months or up to 2 years part-time.
This is a full-time post – 100% full time equivalent. We welcome applicants wanting to work part time over an equivalent time period, eg. 2.5 days/ over 2 years. Please enquire for further details.
For further information, prospective candidates are welcome to contact: Dr Jayati Das-Munshi; firstname.lastname@example.org
