About the Job

We have an exciting fixed term opportunity for a Lecturer in Midwifery to join our team. Utilising your contemporary professional and discipline-related knowledge in teaching and practice you will contribute to the delivery of teaching and associated administrative and scholarship activities within the School’s undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs.

The largest in South Australia, the University of South Australia’s School of Nursing and Midwifery provides quality education to midwives, nurses and health professionals. Accommodated in purpose-built teaching facilities, incorporating fully equipped simulated health services, the School offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs at the City East, Mount Gambier, and Whyalla campuses.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will hold a Bachelor of Midwifery with relevant postgraduate qualifications in midwifery, education or health and hold current registration, or eligibility for registration as a Midwife, with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (essential).

We are seeking to employ an individual who has a sound understanding of contemporary teaching methodologies and possess high level written and oral communication skills, to actively engage and educate students though effective teaching.

A demonstrated contribution to the profession and discipline of Midwifery and a sound understanding of professional midwifery accreditation requirements including continuity of care experiences for entry to practice programs are desirable for this position.
