About the Job

As our Associate Professor, Marketing, you will be focused on providing innovative and energetic leadership in research, teaching and other professional activities within the Faculty of Business and Law. Working with other senior staff, your collaborative style will foster a culture of innovation and excellence and advance disciplinary programs in Marketing in the Faculty and more broadly the University. In this role, you will maintain and enhance partnerships with a wide range of industries and public institutions.

As a leader in your field, you will maintain a program of public and institutional engagement, working with other Swinburne researchers, to strengthen and amplify existing and acknowledged research strengths of the University, in accordance with its strategic plan. Through proactively seeking out opportunities, you will be expected to foster and participate in activities that build further on existing links with government, business, communities and professions in Australia and internationally.

Your work will be underpinned by an established and internationally-recognised publication record, and a nationally competitive record of research funding. As an Associate Professor, you will have teaching responsibilities, including preparing and delivering classes and assessing students in the marketing discipline both on campus and online. You will also be required to undertake leadership responsibilities in the Department, including making a contribution to the mentoring of early career researchers and in attracting and supervising relevant postgraduate candidates.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • An earned doctoral qualification in Marketing or a closely related field
  • A strong national and international reputation as an academic and research leader with an internationally recognised track record of publications in top-tier journals
  • An established significant track record in attracting and managing external research income through competitive grants and/or industry collaboration
  • A track record of successful supervision of higher research degree candidates, particularly supervision to completion
