Postdoctoral Research Associate - Wolfson Centre For Age Related Diseases
We are seeking to recruit a post-doctoral scientist to investigate novel mechanisms underlying untreatable chronic pain. The focus will be on neurons and immune cell communication, mediated by both soluble and particulate mediators. Thus, the candidate will have experience in cellular and molecular analyses, including the characterization of extracellular vesicles and microRNA biology.
These will be complemented by behavioural assays for the monitoring of pain-like behaviour in rodents. The post-doc will supervise the activities of a research assistant and, under coordination by the PI, will liaise with an industrial partner that collaborates on next generation sequencing and associated bioinformatics. The long-term aim is to device new targets and modalities for the treatment of chronic pain.
This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 30 months
This is a full-time post - 100% FTE, 35 hours per week.
The selection process will include a panel interview, an assessment, a presentation.
