Artist-in-Residence (Fall Semester 2020)

Department of Visual Studies

The Department of Visual Studies (VS) at Lingnan University offers a multi-disciplinary course of study, focusing on three core disciplines: art history, film studies and philosophical aesthetics. The VS curriculum emphasises the history, theory and philosophy of visual arts and culture in Asia and beyond, together with experiential, object-based and skill-based learning through fieldtrips, studio practice, curatorial training and internships. VS admits about 30 undergraduate majors and a small number of MPhil and PhD students per academic year.  Launched in 2006, the Artist-in-Residence Programme brings students into contact with a range of art and film practitioners with expertise in multiple areas, such as filmmaking, ceramics, drawing, painting, photography and new media.  A considerable number of artists from Hong Kong and abroad were invited to teach studio arts for undergraduate students, provide consultation, give public talks and organise exhibitions or film screenings together with Lingnan students.  For more information about the Artist-in-Residence Programme, please visit https://www.LN.edu.hk/visual/.
