Job description

Queen's Management School are looking for a highly-skilled Research Fellow to join the Northern Ireland Administrative Data Research Centre (NI-ADRC) team. As part of the team you will undertake a programme of work using linked datasets to understand a range of policy-relevant issues, potentially to include issues around pollution and health, education, and welfare reforms, working closely with other team members including the Director of the NI-ADRC Dr Dermot O'Reilly and Professor Duncan McVicar. Candidates should hold or be about to obtain a PhD in Economics or cognate discipline, should have at least three years of relevant research experience in micro-econometric analysis of administrative or survey data, and should have an interest in using research to inform policy makers. This post is available for a 12 month period.

Criterion include:

  • Have or be about to obtain a PhD in economics or a related discipline. 
  • At least 3 years relevant research experience in micro-econometric analysis of administrative or survey data, and effective research dissemination. 
  • Experience of publishing, or evidence of ability to publish, in top international journals. 
  • Ability to contribute to broader management and administrative processes. 
  • * Contribute to the School's outreach programme by links with policy makers, industry, community groups etc. 
  • * Advanced knowledge of Stata or equivalent statistics software. 
  • * Advanced knowledge of econometrics. 
  • * Ability to analyse the theoretical implications of government policy from an economic and/or social science perspective.
