Cranfield University is an international centre of excellence in research and postgraduate teaching in strategic areas of science, technology, engineering and management, directed by the needs of industry. We attract well over 4,000 masters and doctoral students each year from over 100 countries, as well as thousands more learners who attend our events and short courses for professional managers and executives.
Cranfield University is undertaking an exciting programme of work to consolidate its various VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) solutions to one system. The chosen system is Canvas. This will provide a significant step forward for Cranfield University facilitating a world leading learning and teaching experience for students and staff. This two year project will consider and improve upon existing standards, process and procedures and utilising this knowledge, convert 1000 modules and 130 courses to the new platform.
We are seeking 2 motivated team-workers for the first 18 months of the project with a passion for facilitating the development of an engaging online platform and structure within the boundaries of our described standards. You will have demonstrable experience of designing digital training resources, experience of working with subject matter experts including academic colleagues and be very capable of managing your own workload including the organisation of appointments. A good understanding of pedagogy, attention to detail, excellent problem-solving and inter-personal skills, a methodical, logical and flexible approach and a commitment to the delivery of outstanding customer service are essential for this position.
You must have demonstrable experience of designing/development of a VLE, although not necessarily Canvas. You must have a detailed technical understanding of learning systems and applications in order to build the appropriate course and module solutions and where applicable, diagnose and rectify problems. You must show a commitment to providing services to clients to a high degree of professional standard.
This role may require occasional visits to our campus in Shrivenham, Oxfordshire.
