Your new role
The School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Enquiry are seeking a passionate and innovative Lecturer in History with the ability to teach and research in History and any of the following:
- Politics
- Global governance
- Global development studies and/or
- International Political economy.
As a Lecturer, you will
- Deliver lectures and tutorial classes in relevant areas, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level
- Contribute to curriculum innovation and content design
- Undertake nationally competitive and high quality research and disseminate research findings through seminars, workshops and conferences
- Contribute to external activities relevant to the discipline and community engagement.
You will bring to the role
- Completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline
- Demonstrated high level teaching skill and a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching delivery
- A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline and a record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.
- An established record of research outputs/creative works in high quality refereed academic journals/outlets consistent with the discipline
- A history of successful competitive grant applications
- Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree research students
- Demonstrated experience / capacity to undertake unit coordination role
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity
- Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position Teaching, research and/or engagement experience within the Asia-Pacific region would be highly regarded
